Caela- "‘If Nothing Else’ was written by Kate Ettinger, David Crellin and myself. We wrote it in tribute to our dear friends Drew and Joe who tragically had their last PBR and coffee at the Café Racer shooting in Seattle. We were all so sad when this horrendous thing happened and none of us really knew what to do or where to channel that anger and deep sadness. I had an idea to write a song for them inspired by Son House ‘Don’t Mind People Grinning inYour Face’. Kate and I were in the Love Shack in the back of my parents house cause our friend Viv lived in there at the time. We sat back there and I just kept humming this song and playing with it. Kate very quickly had an idea for the melody and from there David send over his brilliant lyrics based on our title. I don’t remember if he had even heard the music yet at that point. It all clicked. At first we felt very sad when we started singing it but each time we performed it, the song became more and more joyful and uplifting. We recorded this song with Industrial Revelation - which was a really incredible collaboration."
