about

Ron W. Bailey – “I began writing this song after a NANDA show in Seattle at Broadway Performance Hall. It was their ‘Jacket’ show. It was a fantastic show and I’ve always loved their work. I expressed to them that it was time to go for it, to put it out there and to be like a farmer who works hard to get a good crop so he can sell it at market”. I said “boys, its time to take it to the market”!
Nanda inspired the title then I decided to make the first verse about me, proud son of a West Virginia hillbilly, second verse inspired by Caela and third verse inspired by my wife Cathy Sutherland.

lyrics

Hillbilly boy, he liked to make a lot of noise - He knew the meaning of a shovel & gloves
He wanted that next crop - To be better than the last crop
But because of a price drop - He’s just wonderin’ what to do
Ooooh you wonderin what to do
You gotta get it, get it, get that glue up off your shoes

Big city girl - A really kinda fly girl
She knew the meaning of heaven and love
She was a hot shot - She liked to shake it to hip hop
But because of a mental block - She’s just wonderin what to do
Ooooh, instead of wondering what to do
You gotta get it, get it, get that glue up off your shoes

-Chorus-
Take it to the market
Finish what you started
Oooohhh, get up get on it
You got it flaunt it
Oooohh, take it right now

All the time - It happens all the time
You lose your balance - Somebody comes right up and shoves ya
They wanna make you stop - But just remember that the next crop
It could be better than the last crop - Don’t let em knock you down
No, you know just what to do
You gotta get it, get it, get that glue off of your shoes

-Chorus-
